A black and white tripod floor lamp illuminates the large white sofa area and serves as a visually interesting art piece in the space. A built-in entertainment center houses the TV and provides concealed storage for media components.
“What I love about the living room is we have a neutral sofa and deep blue chairs so I could play with the color palette by layering different blues in,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “But to make the blue not too masculine we brought in pops of really pale pink and it makes the whole space totally grounded.”
This living room boasts deep blue walls and crisp white molding. The furniture is arranged to invite conversation, and everything is tied together with a beautiful brown leather ottoman atop a dramatic blue and white patterned rug.
Blue and turquoise accents are sprinkled throughout the living room, a lively contrast to the neutrals walls and furnishing. Textures bring in further visual interest, from the carved cabinet to the fur throw draped across the contemporary red chair.
After a top-to-bottom renovation, this transitional living room is now a proverbial jewel thanks to soft blue walls and matching chairs, a blue-and-green-spotted ottoman, built-in storage shelves with green backs, and a fireplace with a white mantel and blue glass tile surround.
The cool blue color scheme keeps this transitional living room feeling calm and collected. Beautiful white curtains hung from the ceiling help vertically open the space, making it seem larger and more luxurious.

Pops of gold and plum purple wake up the white foundation of the formal living room, adding personality and warmth. Hanging the curtains several inches above the window emphasizes the room's high ceiling.
A neutral color palette gets an infusion of refreshing energy with blue accents in the table lamps, artwork, throw and accent pillows. In a clever design move, the twin lamps serve as a visual frame for the painting behind the sofa.
