White Sitting Room with Blue Accents
The sitting room in this Midcentury Modern home was designed to reflect the serenity of the pool area. The white walls, white furniture and lighted mirror wall work to reflect the natural light and view of the pool that floods the space through the windows and sliding glass doors that provide access to the outdoor entertainment space, while blue accent pieces highlight the blue of the pool and California sky.
Neutral Transitional Sitting Room With Blue Accents
The split wall has lower white panelling surrounding this transitional sitting room. Three contemporary blue lanterns serve as tables in front of a traditional tan sofa. Blue pillows with stripe and chevron designs and a large blue painting continue the blue accents in the room.
This relaxing sitting room features a neutral sofa paired with bold blue accents, including a patterned area rug and leather pouf ottoman. A neutral polka dot ottoman is positioned in front of the sofa, while framed modern artwork hangs above. Colorful throw pillows provide a finishing touch.
To create a separate living space for the homeowners, designers used floor rugs to define the boundaries of the sitting room. In this smaller space, a stylish sofa and wingback chairs provide seating, while a coffee table and end table give guests somewhere to set plate and cups. To add warmth to the space, designers used rich wood trim and added a fireplace to give off heat on cool nights. For pops of color and a touch of personality, blue artwork was added to the space.
Modern artwork, lighting and furnishings mix with traditional pieces, such as a wing chair, in a white and blue sitting room by Jimmy Stanton for a Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse in Atlanta. He selected items that have concrete, wood and stone, along with graphic artwork and a rug with a faux bois design. Garden stools provide extra seating or space for coffee or cocktails.
Inspired by the glamorous 1920s homes on the North Shore of Long Island, this transitional sitting room glitters with gold accents. White walls and carpet keep the room airy and light, while a geometric-patterned couch provides a stylish seat for lounging.
A vinyl record player brings a throwback touch to this sitting room, which is artfully designed to be modern with a hint of Art Deco. Gold accents, including the round coffee table, chair legs and even the speckled animal hide rug, add a touch of glamour. Black and white photography is playful, yet sophisticated.
Bright Transitional Sitting Room With Deep Blue Accents
Crisp white and soft gray provide a bright, soothing backdrop for this transitional sitting room, while blue accents bring depth and color to the space. A classic fireplace serves as the focal point of the room, inviting guests in with its warmth.
A modern console table forms the base of a lovely, symmetrical vignette in this eclectic dining room. The white and blue printed curtain ties in with the modern lamps, while an ornate mirror draws the eye to create a focal point for the space.
Where four plush chairs invite guests to gather 'round the fire, teal pillows keep the space colorful and comfortable. Better still, these accents can be swapped out as the seasons change for a whole new look.
