Modern Black Stairway with Black Railing
The new wooden stairs from the front door entry, Leanne wanted to keep the original wood color on the stairs but create a modern feel by staining the railing a black color, as seen on Restored by the Fords.
The sleek design of this modern home includes a bold, geometric stairway that cuts a jagged line across the vast white walls. The space's only color comes from art and lighting, including two amber-glass floor lamps that double as modern art. Wood finishes mix with white walls to bring both drama and warmth to the space.
Large windows allow natural light to flood this modern staircase, featuring light hardwood steps and a black metal railing. Two small gray stone end tables are positioned under a colorful modern photograph, while a vine ball sculpture adds a bit of texture.
Modern Black and White Master Bedroom with Custom Black Railing
The master bedroom of Christina Anstead's newly renovated home features a high ceiling, plenty of light, and a metal bed frame, ceiling light fixture, and banister all custom built by husband Ant Anstead, as seen on Christina on the Coast.
You can’t go wrong with clean, classic, black deck railing. Fiberon Horizon Railing complements both traditional and contemporary architectures and looks equally at home with wood-toned or gray decking. As an added bonus, the flat top rail makes a great resting spot for your drink!
Modern Red Home With Curved Black Railing, Exterior Rear
This modern red home features a curved black railing on the second floor deck. The first-floor patio includes a fire pit and an outdoor dining area. At upper left is an outdoor rain room, which allows residents to enjoy infrequent San Diego rains without getting wet.
Using a black railing can fit with traditional or modern architecture of a patio or porch, and it can help the railing or a fence seem to fade away when you're trying to relax and enjoy the view. This black railing uses steel cables, but designer Mosaic Group Architects and Remodelers has recreated the look on a lower-end budget. It spray-painted a chain link fence black and found the result also is far less obvious than with silver.
A small square table with a glass top creates a little dining area on this wood balcony. Upholstered gray chairs are decorated with black and white floral pillows, complementing the black railing and the home's gray exterior.
