The original master bedroom had an awkward layout, so designer Regan Baker set out to improve the flow and establish a focal point. She paneled the wall behind the bed to create a textured look and moved the closet behind the bed for better flow. A steel barn door was installed to transition from the bedroom to the bathroom and to tie in to the look seen throughout the home.
This cozy sofa is flanked by a pair of noble floor lamps, which also serve to mark off this sitting area from the rest of the room. A metallic cube coffee table picks up the reflective artwork on the wall.
Dining Room Renovated to Flow Into Adjacent Living Space
Designer Marci Barnes removed the walls that originally enclosed this dining area, opening the space up to be part of the kitchen and flow easily into the adjacent living space. Chic, contemporary dining chairs with nailhead trim and a geometric dining table base add a modern punch to an otherwise traditional space.

A dramatic chandelier by Nancy Corzine hangs above a solid walnut dining table by Jeff Newell of Newell Design Studio, bringing eye-catching elegance to the open-floor plan of the living space. The custom fixture showcases more than 25 individual lamps, while the custom Dessin Fournir chairs on an antique rug completes the dining ensemble.
To define the breakfast nook, the banquette and surrounding trimwork is painted a striking blue. Classic Windsor chairs sit opposite the leather-cushioned banquette, surrounding the farmhouse-inspired table.
Entertaining is easy in this elongated great room that combines kitchen, dining and lounging areas in a modern way. With emphasis placed on acoustics, this home is also soundproof and thickly insulted to keep the noise contained.
Dynamic Townhouse Kitchen Is Fabulously Functional
Form and function expertly combine in this stunning townhouse kitchen. A wall of steel-framed interior windows provides practical division between the kitchen and dining room while adding an architectural focal point to the home. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets maximize the kitchen's limited square footage, and a track ladder provides easy accessibility while adding another point of interest to the dynamic space.
Wood details throughout this dining room enhance the country look and feel of the design. A set of white chairs alternates with a set of brown chairs around the long dining table. Detailed trim framing the doorway and windows echoes the detailing on the large wood china cabinet. A neutral rug complements the creamy walls and continues the theme of mixing dark and light.
