Designer Harmony Wells chose a tall cabinet to solve several problems in her clients’ small bath. “Because the space only had 8-foot high ceilings, we wanted to draw the eye up. The floor-to-ceiling custom linen cabinet makes the room feel larger and lighter,” she says. Wells designed the piece with an open-and-closed combination of storage. “This makes the unit less busy, visually, and keeps the overall scale on the smaller side, so it doesn’t compete with the shower.”
Marianne Brown designed this custom bath cabinet with colorful floral wallpaper behind the shelves. The wallpaper adds a pop of color, pattern, and personality to the bath, balancing the sterile nature of bathroom fixtures.

When creating a bar to service the kitchen and dining room for a client who entertained regularly, Teri Turan’s biggest challenge was space: “We only had a 47-inch space to fit a wine captain, an ice maker, storage for top shelf bottles, mixers, glassware, cocktail napkins and bar paraphernalia,” she says. Custom cabinets and careful shopping for extra-small appliances got the job done. She finished off the look with Persia Pearl granite countertops and honed travertine tile on the backsplash.
