Back-to-back couches and a console divide this large room into two spaces, while orange accent pillows break up the gray hues. For the ultimate theater room experience, a large projector screen can be retracted from the ceiling.
The original 1970s house was constructed on a series of telephone poles cantilevered off the canyon floor. A few walls and doors were reconfigured to create an enclosed media room in the basement. An open basement plan was slightly reconfigured with the help of an engineer, and the final product is a cozy media room with seating for 12.

The open-concept living area provides quick access to the gourmet kitchen area, as well as sliding glass doors that open into the picturesque backyard. Just off of the living room is a separate game room and bar, as well as a media room and wine cellar.
White-Painted Fireplace Decorated With Colorful Planters
The living room was actually a collaboration between the homeowner and designer, who met on social media. To create the space, designer Michelle Gage sent styling instructions based on the home's floor plan, and the owner added her own small touches, like the DIY-painted planters on the mantel.
A large black entertainment center houses the flatscreen TV and all the media components for clean, organized look in this coastal-inspired living room. Traditional furniture, like the solid cream sofa and patterned armchair, create a neutral base for the floral, tropical-inspired area rug and pillows to really pop.
Bright & Airy Transitional Living Room With Built-Ins
Traditional architecture forms a pleasing backdrop for modern furnishings and accessories in this transitional family room. Built-in bookshelves flank the fireplace, and a bold, abstract painting provides a punch of color and creates a focal point. A pair of X-based benches beneath the media console can slide out for extra seating.
