Dining Room with Shelving and a Stone Focal Wall
As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the Jowett family's multi-purpose, open concept dining room/kitchen combo lacked a focal point. By moving the stairs to the basement, designer Hilary Farr was able to redefine the dining area and create a focal wall with built in shelving.

A trio of rectangular mirrors hang behind the dining table, reflecting back the room and visually expanding the space in this traditional dining room. Decorative moss balls and oversized candle votives complete the tablescape.
This handsome dining room is a great example of the home's mix of textures with its wide plank wood floors, hand hewn beams in the ceiling and rustic stone accent wall. Detailed carvings give a unique touch to the chairs.
Stone walls, ceiling beams and built-in wine storage are custom touches that make this Tuscan-inspired dining room completely unique. A contemporary light fixture hangs above a traditional dining table, and warm colors and rustic finishes add to the room's Mediterranean feel.
