Awning Window Above Kitchen Sink
Tilt-and-turn windows, popular in Europe, can be opened two ways: with a side hinge that lets the sash swing horizontally and with a bottom hinge that permits the window to be opened like an awning window. The dual-action offers interesting flexibility for cleaning and for interior design.
Neutral Transitional Living Room Blends Classic and Modern Elements for Timeless Design
This transitional living room is situated in a small space, so designers used the reflection of the mirrors that flank the fireplace to expand the room and create a sense of openness in the space. To give the room a dramatic presence while still keeping it timeless, classic elements were blended with modern sling chairs.
Transitional Eat-In Kitchen With Black Countertops
This inviting kitchen features white cabinets paired with black countertops and a white tile backsplash. Lucite counter stools line the kitchen island and create a casual spot for eating, while a pendant light illuminates the space from above.
Sitting Room With Back and White Pencil Wall Art, Modern Leather White Chairs With Matching Ottomans and Square Design Rug
A large wall art sketch creates an eye-catching accent wall in this modern sitting space. A pair of modern leather chairs with matching ottomans are placed over a square pattern rug. A glass top table holds books and simple decor to finish the space and separate the chairs.
Contemporary Master Bedroom With Brown Accent Wall
Sliding glass doors lead out to the rooftop balcony with stunning views of the distant skyline. A modern leather armchair and chrome floor lamp make up a dedicated reading area in front of the fireplace.
Modern Boy's Room with Geometric Wallpaper Accent Wall
In this boy's room, designers anchored the space in white walls and a marble floor to make the space feel larger, while an accent wall with geometric wallpaper brings a bit of fun to the space. To add a bit of personality in the space, designers brought in a green rug to give the feel of a soccer field, while a custom painting of a soccer player hangs on the wall.
Black subway tile makes a smart backsplash for this Art Deco bathroom (that's Marilyn Monroe approved). Upper walls are covered in heathered gray wallpaper, a strong contrast to the tiles' glossy finish.
A tucked-away butler's pantry has enough space for a contemporary pedestal table and four chairs, offering extra seating for guests in this entertainment-ready estate in Newport Coast, California. Stone walls and traditional lanterns complement the Mediterranean architecture, while contemporary furnishings update the look and feel for modern living. An adjoining sitting room offers another spot for guests to perch.
In sunny Florida, there’s often no need to keep the car inside the garage—which leaves this space open for creative conversion. Here, the team at B + G Design transformed a Miami garage into a luxurious home theater, complete with upholstered seating, dramatic lighting and colorful artwork to brighten the space when there’s nothing on screen.
Red White and Blue Bedroom With Board and Batten Molding
This bedroom was designed for a preteen boy using a red white and blue color scheme. The bed was positioned to create a sense of openness, and dark blue board and batten molding was added to the lower portion of the wall.
The house has three levels overall: a living area and kitchen on the ground floor, the master bedroom on the second floor and additional bedrooms on the garden level. All floors have access to the home's equally lovely outdoor spaces.
