Thrift Chic Laundry Room
Not everything in your laundry room has to be shiny and new to make the space beautiful. In fact, having an antique wardrobe like this one is a great way to tell a story and still have storage. This farmhouse laundry room, designed by Carol Spinski, has a lovely mix of elements that makes for an interesting space.
HGTV fan Sassy0239 wanted to transform her contractor-grade laundry room into a stylish and feminine utility space representative of her style. She repainted the walls, replaced the traditional metal shelves and added chic, budget-friendly baskets and storage accessories to make up for the lack of cabinetry. Now, she has a pretty laundry room she actually enjoys doing laundry in (kind of).
Sleek dark wood cabinets are paired with simple gray countertops for a chic and functional laundry room. Floating shelves and cubbies provide open storage, while the space is grounded by rectangular gray tiles. A stainless steel-framed door leads to the private patio.
Industrial meets chic in this functional, yet stylish laundry room. A stacked washer and dryer make maximum use of space, allowing for a sink, hanging rod, cabinetry and countertop space for folding. The gray and white palette is neutral, but pattern and texture bring plenty of visual interest.
Granite countertops, a utility sink and simple white cabinets make this Scandinavian laundry room chic and functional. Laundry day is made easier with a perfectly positioned folding counter over the washer and dryer and plenty of storage space.
This laundry room does double duty as a crafting room as well, with long countertops, a tall stool and lots of drawers and cabinets for storage. A pretty graphic pattern on the floor gives a chic, contemporary touch to the entire space.
Better believe utilitarian spaces can be incredibly chic. Pale green accents are fresh companions to this laundry room's crisp white walls and cabinets. Even the stainless steel washer and dryer feel like a part of the decor.
Chic Living Room with Rustic Carved Wood Coffee Table
The rosette pattern gives this hand-carved coffee table so much visual texture that you don't need to over-accessorize the top, which can save money. Terracotta Design Build used a natural element - antlers - on top of one coffee table book. The new mango wood coffee table cost less than $350.
What was once a small, dark laundry room is now a tres chic powder room. Wallpaper is the star of the show. Designers also added a skylight to brighten the room, a floating vanity (maximizing floor space) and streamlined brass sconces.
HGTV fan AdrianneD's dining room may be French country, but her chandelier came from Spain (and for a good price, too). What's the secret to creating a chic look on a tight budget? AdrianneD says to do "a lot of thrift store shopping and scouring flea markets to find good deals."
Dining Room Design Details From Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, designer Sarah Richardson updated this boring dining room with stylish, mid-century modern decor. Vintage oval mirrors and blue floating cabinets are a chic complement to the refurbished antique dining chairs Sarah found at a local thrift store. New french doors replace the room's old windows to allow plenty of natural light in this bright, open space.
Mid-Century Modern Dining Room From Sarah Sees Potential
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, this open plan dining room got a chic, mid-century modern makeover. Designer Sarah Richardson upcycled thrift store dining chairs by dipping the legs in chrome and reupholstering the seats. Keeping with the vintage theme, she installed a fun mid-century modern chandelier and two matching floating storage cabinets in a bright blue to match the owner's original artwork. A custom banquette and vintage wood dining table complete the look.
