A Completely Transformed Living Room
By removing a wall, what was once a small room feels much larger, offering a comfortable flow between the living room and the dining room. In the process of removing the wall, HGTV Fixer Upper host Chip Gaines found the original fireplace underneath, and decided to keep it as a unique design element. The original shiplap was revealed and kept as wainscoting around the house, and natural wood awnings were installed around the windows.
Midcentury Living Room Complete With Cozy Fireplace
Those vaulted ceilings continue into the living room, which helps encourage movement between the two spaces. With two slipper chairs, a tufted sofa and a fireplace, this is the perfect spot to gather with family and friends after dinner.
Living Room Complete With Timeless, Neutral Sectional
A sectional was a smart choice for this living room, as it visually defines the sitting area and makes space for visitors. A wooden coffee table keeps drinks, snacks and other entertaining essentials on hand.
Contemporary Living Room Complete With Woven Chandelier
Don't let the fun colors fool you; this contemporary living room is still entirely functional. Two green armchairs and a pink sofa provide comfortable seating for about five people, while a set of nesting coffee tables keeps drinks and snacks within arm's reach. What's more, a boho-style chandelier illuminates the space for conversation.
With light streaming in from the windows and plants all along the wall, this soothing white living room feels so serene and natural. Patterned pillows and an area rug complete the space and ensure that it's totally comfortable.
Contemporary Living Room Complete With Coral + Teal Rug
Because the home's floor plan is so open, designer Kerra Michelle Huerta also used the couple's sectional to separate the living room from the formal dining space. A large area rug softens the floor below and complements the bright pops of coral, too.
Contemporary Living Room Complete With Large Gray Sofa
Turning left off the foyer leads guests into the living room, where two armchairs, a large sofa and two ottomans provide plenty of seating. A floor-to-ceiling fireplace anchors the space and becomes a beautiful focal point.
Living Room Complete With Tall Houseplant, Copper Frames
A closer look at this corner of the living room reveals two copper frames and a houseplant, which add height to the space. Below, mixed-patterned pillows pair well together thanks to their complementary colors.
Modern Living Room Complete With Womb Chair, Bench
With a womb chair, sectional and tufted bench, this living room has plenty of seating for guests. Meanwhile, two midcentury floor lamps and recessed lights overhead keep the space bright late into the evening.
Contemporary Living Room Complete With Geometric Coffee Table
Stepping into the open living room reveals cool, contemporary furnishings, like a neutral sofa, floral-printed armchairs and a geometric coffee table. Though the reclaimed wood ceilings were originally brown, the designers white-washed them to make the space feel more light and airy.
Eclectic Living Room Complete With Soft White Sofa
With a transitional white sofa, two Art Deco-style coffee tables and a cowhide and boho rug layered on top of each other, this living room is just as comfortable as it is eclectic. A teal throw pillow brings in some of the color that the owners love as well.
Multicolor Detail Pieces in Contemporary Living Room Completes the Space
It's the details that really pull a space together, and for this contemporary living room, that's where the personality lies. The gray sofas provide a neutral backdrop for the multicolor pillows and turquoise vases that help to pull the natural light in from the large windows. Another unique touch added to the space is the abstract artwork hanging behind the striped bench. The muted colors in the artwork complement the other colors in the space, tying it all together and making this living room a bright, welcoming place to relax.
Modern and Textured Elements Help Complete Modern Farmhouse Living Room Design
In the living room, designers added texture and contrast with a plaid rug, while solid furniture anchors the space. A brass floor lamp gives the room a touch of glamour and brings in the modern element the homeowners love.
Contemporary Living Room With White Brick Fireplace
The living room of the newly renovated Childers home has been completely transformed, the original brick over the fireplace was revealed, original wood floors restored and shiplap walls brought to life, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
