5 Star Status Master Bedroom
This is one of my favorite master bedrooms of all time. It immediately reads as a luxury destination. This was the last space we designed in our original scope of work and I wanted everything we chose to have as much tactile appeal as it did visually. Wherever you land, you’ll sink down into lush velvets, silks, furs or mohair. The color palette is small but soothing, varying from dark chocolates to taupes with dashes of white to keep it crisp and reflect light. We used a faux silk wallcovering in the bedroom’s entry and on the bed wall, but conserved by using a perfect color-matched paint on the walls adjacent. I know it may seem a little indulgent but whenever you can, try adding fresh flowers or an orchid in your bedroom: instant hotel suite status!
This luxurious yellow contemporary master bedroom is inspired by the 5-star hotels. The large space is balanced using an exaggerated headboard over the king-size bed. A gorgeous silk fabric on the custom floral pattern bedding and window treatments are the focal point of the room. The beautiful chandelier is the crown jewel of this master bedroom.
Family and friends visiting from Jamaica get the boutique-hotel treatment in this guest bedroom. An upholstered bed from City Furniture, a bright bedspread from Schoolhouse Electric, and crisp white sheets give the room five-star status.
Contemporary Master Bathroom With Dark Wood Vanities
A continuation of the master bedroom’s focus on quiet luxury, the master bathroom at HGTV Green Home 2011 boasts two separate islands and an adjoining master closet space. Vessel sinks and 6 x 5-foot mirrors framed in blue make a subtle nod to the bedroom’s ethnic-chic design style.
With 545 acres, this Montana home, owned by former Metallic bassist Jason Newsted, was built in 2006 and has 360-degree views of the Bitterroot Range. The almost $5-million home was designed as a seasonal retreat with spacious bedroom, living areas and a chef's kitchen. Custom touches, like stained glass windows and exquisite woodwork are hallmarks of the home with a nod to rock star status in a one-of-a-kind sunburst wood design made entirely from wood from the Gibson guitar factory.
Bath Tub and Standing Shower in Contemporary Bathroom
A tranquil 5-Star boutique hotel experience set the tone for this master bedroom remodel which we designed for a busy couple with kids in a Boston suburb. The master suite project involved moving walls for a closet expansion, a bathroom gut job, and removing all traces of the dark, dated furnishings that closed in the space. We used a neutral base palette with soft blue touches and layered in heirloom-quality textiles, elegant lighting, and lots of texture.
Contemporary Master Bedroom With Patterned Headboard
In the master bedroom, subtle Phillip Jeffries wallcovering and Made Goods nightstands are elegant supporting players to the star: a custom headboard upholstered in Kelly Wearstler fabric. Table lamp: Aerin
The 2' 4" x 5' 4" shower stall in the master bathroom of HGTV Urban Oasis 2013 is clad floor to ceiling in a mix of tumbled marble and glass mosaic tile. A window, carved into the wall, provides views into the master bedroom and through windows beyond.
Moroccan-Inspired Master Bedroom With Custom Upholstered Bed
This Moroccan-inspired master bedroom features a custom-designed, upholstered bed with nailhead trim. HGTV Design Star contestant Danielle Colding revitalized an armoire by adding black lacquer and funky, one-of-a-kind hardware.
Is this a master bedroom or a five star hotel room? With an upholstered bed, copper light fixture and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook downtown Seattle, the owners will be hard pressed to tell the difference!
