This chair is one half of five different sets of swivels in the house. We sourced the chairs for the room’s original design scheme and simply had them reupholstered for the update. The Jim Thompson, cut velvet applied to the chairs’ outside back was also used for the window cornice, which cleverly conceals motorized linen shades that help to control sun exposure. For the interior and seat, we used a solid velvet inspired by the accent fabric and finished clean with a coordinating leather welt. The plant thriving in the background was a gift given to the homeowners on their wedding day, over twenty-five years ago.
This kitchen includes a charming breakfast nook with seating for four and a lovely leather upholstered bench. It's a fun space that's meant to be fresh, inviting, and playful without sacrificing any amenities!
A small velvet loveseat and an upholstered ottoman carve out a lovely seating area in this transitional bedroom. Gold accents add a touch of glam, and contemporary artwork helps tie the space's color palette together.
The charming breakfast nook includes seating for four with lovely pink and green table settings and upholstered pink floral dining chairs. An ornate chandelier with tasseled ends hangs above to illuminate the small dining area.
Located in a carriage house, this elegant guest bedroom features a mix of styles and luxe fabrics. The periwinkle hue on the transitional upholstered headboard carries over to a traditional love seat, while neutral French pleat drapes call out the fawn-colored footstool.
To create a multifunctional seating area in an attorney’s home office, designer Tim Barber chose a flexible mix of vintage and reproduction pieces. “For a room versatile enough to prepare a brief, host tea with friends, steer fundraising projects, help with homework and occasionally accommodate overflow guests, we designed a plan with pieces light enough to be moved easily — and durable enough to survive frequent rearranging (nothing too precious here),” he says. “The sofa is a Lino Comfort sleeper from Design Within Reach, which makes the office a convertible guest bedroom in a pinch. We love the deep seat cushions and low flat arms: perfect for a power nap. The chairs are vintage 1957 Knoll Saarinen armchairs, reupholstered in Kravet fabric. The Saarinen cocktail table is a reproduction from Room & Board.”
