More like the kind of chic, elegant kitchen you'd find in a Manhattan loft, this stunning kitchen from Dana Lynch Design features Keystone Millworks cabinets with a cerused finish and tall glass-front cabinets that give this space the feel of a culinary showplace.
The exterior of this renovated, ultra-modern home stands proud as a fantastic example of functional, exemplary design. The lower level houses a garage, while the second story contains the home's common spaces. The third floor boasts all the home's bedrooms. The interior, as well as exterior, spaces have all been designed from the ground up to reflect this clean, elegant, modern design.
For a little bit of flash going up the stairs, designers created walls out of scored concrete. Then, they installed a metallic flooring that would reflect light and help brighten up the heavy, darker space with a bit of pizzaz.
This black and white kitchen showcases a sleek and modern sensibility with its minimalist approach. Designers at Design Platform selected very tall cabinets to complement the room's high ceilings and to add much-needed storage space. The room was able to accommodate larger accent pieces such as the artwork and pendant lights, as well as a larger island for additional seating. Matte porcelain tile, cove lighting and rift oak cabinets also help create this rich, modern look.
To create this ultra modern home, designers had to remove several walls that once made the footprint of the home feel boxy and closed-in. The result is a beautiful, light and bright space that is clean, stylish, functional and modern.
This spacious master bathroom features a sleek white vanity and high-gloss walls for an ultra-modern look. Gray tile floors and a gray mosaic tile backsplash add contrast to the primarily white space. A soaking tub provides a relaxing escape after a long day.
Nestled in the trees in southern California is this sumptuous modern home that continues its theme in the design of its backyard swimming pool. Although the pool is a traditional rectangular shape, designer Andrea Michaelson added modern touches to blend with the rest of the home's architecture.
To keep the space looking modern, all the appliances are situated in the lower cabinets, and the stove finds its home in the set of cabinets that faces the ocean view, so the homeowners can enjoy their beautiful surroundings.
Black railings contrast beautifully with the glass banisters and hardwood stairs of this custom staircase. Large windows behind the stairs fill the room with natural light during the day, and pendant lights hanging form the tall ceilings provide light at night.
This kitchen dining area received a modern look with the addition of a dining table, chairs and starburst chandelier that give the room a sparkling presence. White and silver were the sole colors used in the room with the exception of a vase of pink flowers used as a dining table centerpiece. Designer Claire Paquin created a stunning yet inviting look for a traditionally ordinary space.
Like the master bedroom, the master bath is designed to provide a virtual outdoor experience, creating the impression that the space is open to the outside. The seamless glass windows that form the outer walls are made of Starfire glass, a highly specialized glass that is actually clearer than ordinary glass and typically reserved for such purposes as building jewelry display cases and high-end aquariums. The cost of upgrading from clear glass to Starfire glass was more than $1 million. The master bath's freestanding tub cost more than $20,000, as seen on HGTV's Million Dollar Rooms.
