To make the most of the home's floor plan (and create even more space for entertaining), the designers converted the basement into a den. A built-in entertainment unit houses the TV, with shelves on either side for DVDs, while a sectional and ottoman encourage everyone to cuddle up for a movie night.
With the television being the focal point of this living room space, designers wanted to frame it elegantly as well as add some functionality to the bare wall around it, so custom shelves were built to surround it. Above the TV, open shelves display photographs and knick knacks that add a personal touch to the home, while below, open storage gives the homeowners a place to keep their books and movies within arm's reach.
A neutral marble fireplace surround creates a beautiful contrast to the dark stone accent panel around the TV above. Built-in shelving creates storage with an appealing textural element on the back wall.
A custom-crafted natural pine shelving unit in this contemporary living room accommodates two oil paintings by Josh Armijo. The canvases slide back and forth on a track to conceal the room’s flat-screen TV.
Colorful artwork and accessories pop in this all-white kids room. The built-in desk provides a place for two to sit and do homework. Above, modular shelving holds books, personal treasures and a small TV.
