An in-water walkway creates a path through the pool in this beautiful backyard. Wood chairs are decorated with a bright turquoise throw pillow for a pop of color in the seating area. Landscape lighting accents the plant life and keeps the yard bright.
This white kitchen displays its modern functionality using sleek cabinetry and cohesive color choices. Designed by Kim Scodro Interiors, the space is subtlety accented with turquoise and yellow, with an interesting white chandelier serving as a provocative centerpiece. The distressed black dining chairs are an inspired choice.
The wide design of this home paired with the long swimming pool fits the spacious feel of this backyard. Vivid green grass and tree life add natural color while turquoise pool umbrellas add a pop of accent. Evening lighting accentuates the reflective surface of the pool for a lovely finish.
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, Sarah and her team constructed a custom plate rail from stock lumber and backband molding. The portion of wall above the plate rail was painted a light, wispy blue to make the room appear larger and accent the turquoise decor.
When their clients traded their boat for a beach retreat, Red House Custom and designer Kim Peterson of KEP Designs worked to give the new-old home’s interiors a soothing “watery” look. Upholstered in the palest shade of blue, the twin sofas appear to float against the white walls; accents in cream, gray, and turquoise complete the seaside scene.
Another splurge in the design was custom framing for the fine art photography. Black lacquered framing was chosen to coordinate with the black accents of the room, while an inset turquoise fillet — the accent molding that fits inside a larger frame and usually sits on top of the mat — helps highlight the blue tones in the art. Since the room receives ample sunlight, non-glare acrylic was chosen rather than glass to protect the art from UV rays.
A round pedestal table holding an Asian tree is used as a living room divider and is flanked by a large beige sofa and a contemporary seating area with modern turquoise blue arm chairs. Arched window shades cover the large windows above three sets of French doors. The contemporary seating area features a zebra print rug and glass coffee table while both sections are accented with red throw pillows.
Jackson Paige Interiors designed this Brentwood home with a contemporary approach but added touches of coastal style throughout the space. This family room, for example, features a soft turquoise wallpaper as an accent wall, complementary sofa pillows, along with a coffee table, end table and art that inspire one to "hit the beach." Especially fetching are the low-to-the-ground occasional chairs that have a cottage-style aesthetic.
Warm, neutral paint contrasts with exotic artwork and accessories to create an intriguing statement. The large, turquoise decorative pot adds a distinct element and brightly accents the simple, gray-toned wall. In a purposeful asymmetric presentation, handblown-glass floral art is hung along one wall in the living room. Glass sculptures in their spectacular hues of red, orange, yellow, and other colors generate an eye-caching focal point from all vantage points.
In this girl's room, designers used bright colors and fun prints to bring life to the space. The walls are painted a turquoise color that makes the space feel bright, while bold, green accents create contrast. To complete the space, a funky, geometric art piece is hung next to the bed, and mirrored nightstands reflect the furry white rug, making the space feel brighter and more open, creating the perfect girly oasis.
Designer Vanessa DeLeon used plush fabrics and deep gray accent pieces to put an elegant spin on this complete home remodel. The eclectic teal and black dining room features an over-dyed turquoise rug from Creative Touch in Secaucus, N.J., while the table hails from Brooklyn-based artisan woodworker Palo Samko. The neutral walls are complemented by a faux-painted black and gray ceiling and black leather chairs around a rustic hardwood dining table with mismatched candle holders and two brass pendant lights.
