This luxurious bedroom features a plush bed with a soft patterned comforter. A leather tufted bench at the foot of the bed coordinates with the headboard and matches the corner chair. A mirror-quality table reflects light from the crystal chandelier above the bench. Three art panels add shades of color to the room and echo the darker wood of the bedside table.
Newly waxed hardwood flooring, a refreshing color palette and contemporary furniture revamp this once bland living room from HGTV's Flip or Flop. A tufted sectional carves out a comfortable seating area in the large space.
The brown leather sofa was a smart choice for this great room, as it both balances out the tufted armchairs and provides extra seats for visitors. Meanwhile, a blue painting decorates the mantel and encourages conversation before dinner.
The inspiration for this room is the bright and vibrant piece of art in the background. The clients used to live in South America and picked this piece of art while living there. It immediately gave the color direction for the space and bridged the taste of the husband who loves calm neutral colors and the wife who loves bright and vibrant color schemes. With two adorable little girls in the house, and the parents who entertain often, this room needed to be family friendly while still having a sophisticated feel for their guests.
This double-height living space combines rustic and modernism with wood beams, exposed ducts and glass balconies, which provide a peek into the upstairs library. The furniture followed the same scheme with a reclaimed wood coffee table and surrounding sleek seating pieces.
A chrome-and-glass desk is accented by eye-catching fuschia flower decor while a flokati rug adds texture to the space. The closet doubles as a reading nook with a tufted leather love seat and metallic wallpaper making the home office have a more playful tone.
A coffered ceiling, white molding details and white french doors create a light background behind the darker furniture of this midcentury modern dining space. The long wood tabletop is lined with black leather chairs on each side. At the heads of the table tufted bench seats create height range and color distinction for the design.
A bright cherry red rug instantly livens the design of this basement living space. Red details throughout the room pull out this accent color to decorate the neutral walls and built in white shelving. A midcentury modern red refrigerator and microwave add a fun vintage touch to the room. A tufted brown leather sofa creates a comfortable seating option.
A yellow tufted bench provides sunny seating around the wood dining table. Mixed throw pillows add extra color to the design featuring pops of blue pattern. Hardwood floor makes a seamless transition between the dining space and the connected kitchen.
Home to two little girls and parents who love to entertain, this room needed to be family-friendly while still having a sophisticated feel for their guests. The curvy lines of the whitewashed console table are elegant but relaxed. Tufted cube ottomans are stowed below for extra seating.
The sofa is a key element in a living room’s design. It anchors the space and provides a place for the family or guests to come together. A matching red leather love seat helps define the room around the coffee table and facing the flatscreen television. Above the TV, large silver globes create a unique, 3D decorative element to draw the eye.
After a few cocktails and plates of food, your guests will want to rest and take a seat. Proper seating is essential for any party. Don’t be afraid to pull your chairs from inside. These leather chairs are from my office and are comfortable and match the color scheme. If you are feeling adventurous, add a small couch or love seat from your living room to create distinct and comfortable seating options for your guests. If your chairs need protection, fabric covers are a solution that can upgrade your current pieces while also keeping them clean while outdoors.
Understated neutrals create a soothing retreat in a master bedroom with a tufted sleigh bed. A beautiful area rug adds a level – and layer – of sophistication to the neutral wall-to-wall carpet, while a small love seat and chair add additional seating.
This chair is one half of five different sets of swivels in the house. We sourced the chairs for the room’s original design scheme and simply had them reupholstered for the update. The Jim Thompson, cut velvet applied to the chairs’ outside back was also used for the window cornice, which cleverly conceals motorized linen shades that help to control sun exposure. For the interior and seat, we used a solid velvet inspired by the accent fabric and finished clean with a coordinating leather welt. The plant thriving in the background was a gift given to the homeowners on their wedding day, over twenty-five years ago.
