Shauna and her husband, Jeff Jones, had worked with a builder to construct their house, and they started with neutral walls (Modern Gray by Sherwin-Williams), a simple background to ground her eclectic design brew.
From the get-go, there’s no mistaking this house is sophisticated and fun. The black-and-white cabinet from AllModern and the arrangement of abstract art—a canvas from Grandin Road and framed pieces by Kim Curran—have gallery appeal. Meanwhile, the symmetry of the blue West Elm lamps and caned chairs from CB2 give the setup an elegant touch.
A modern space with traditional touches: This living space is marked by the juxtaposition of styles. While the ceiling medallion, crown moulding and fireplace feel traditional, the funky ceiling fixture and furniture are anything but. A dark navy sofa and area rug bring calm color to the otherwise neutral space -- the dog invites you to join and sit for a spell!
The colorful living room is infused with a modern funk vibe. The TV wall is the focal point of the room, so it's painted a bright yellow to contrast with the rest of the walls that are painted a sophisticated gray.
This stylish gray bedroom features a mix of patterns, including a graphic accent wall, chevron curtains and Greek key throw pillows, adding visual interest to the space. The bold patterns work well together without appearing too busy.
In this neutral, dining room space, designers brought details into the space that truly brings the Midcentury Modern design to life. From the wood and white dining room set to the white, Midcentury Modern buffet with complementary mirror, this space truly accomplishes the stylish desires of the homeowners.
