The 2014 HGTV Dream Home guest bathroom mixes natural and a bit of glamour. A granite vanity top with an inset bowl sink and espresso, Shaker-style cabinets combine with a tile floor and walk-in shower, two beautiful pendants, an oversize mirror, and just the right accessories to create an inviting, spa-like space for guests.
Designer Elizabeth Swartz used a custom-designed furniture piece as a vanity for this petite powder room. Using a vessel sink means the drawers underneath remain spacious enough to store soaps, guest towels and extra rolls of toilet paper.
Cool blue walls juxtapose against the warm terracotta floor tiles and rustic wood vanity and doors. Neutral tiles are used to create the walk-in shower, while an inset of blue tiles reflects the wall color.
The neutral palette of this bathroom gets an update by mixing colors with textures. Each texture is a different but simple in color, which makes the room feel calm and clean without being too boring. The room also features an inset mirror decorated with simple sconces, marble counter tops and just enough storage space for bathroom necessities.
Large-scale neutral tile is used throughout the floor, bathtub surround and wall for a sophisticated, spa retreat. Mosaic tile is used behind the tub and on the walls to create visual interest and texture in the space, and pebble tile grounds the walk-in glass shower.
