The ultra-modern kitchen from HGTV Green Home 2011 is stunning in shades of gray and black. An island provides space for food preparation as well as eating. The unique smoke glass cabinets and stainless exhaust hood compliment the beautiful tile work.
Designer Karina Bryant of K_Souki Design Studio used complementary colors and textures in her cupboards, contrasting the shiny white upper cabinets with the darker wood-grained lower cabinets. You could get a similar effect by painting upper cabinets in a bright high gloss paint. Keeping the lower cabinets darker makes them easier to clean, especially with children in the house, Bryant points out. The Atlanta home was built by Imery Group.
A stainless steel stove, a white tile backsplash, granite countertops and wood cabinets bring a traditional look to this kitchen from designer Robin Lamonte. Under-cabinet lighting provides extra illumination.
The gray glass tile backsplash provides beautiful contrast against the white countertops and cabinets in this transitional kitchen. Glass doors on the upper cabinetry keep the space feeling open and airy.
