Anyone who thinks you can’t lose something in an itsy-bitsy dorm room has never spent 30 minutes searching for a credit card in a clutch purse (cough, cough). Tile is a set of eight Bluetooth-enabled white squares that attach to essentials like your keys, your wallet and your thesis. It connects with an app that essentially plays Marco Polo with your lost items, letting you know when you’re near them.
Porcelain tiles used in the bath/shower combination with white soaking tub provide a punch of pattern for the room. "We have black and white oversized checkered tile in the shower, the reason being is this is a very strong wall color and we wanted to play with black and white as the main accents to it so it wouldn't really fight," says designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
The laundry room has floor-to-ceiling wall tiles with a graphic pattern that recalls antique ironwork and on first glance looks like wallpaper, but offers the benefit of a completely washable surface for this task space. A locally sourced basket offers a stylish way to transport clothes to and from the laundry room.
Garden level entry with blue/gray tiles in the vestibule, leading guests too the oak hard wood floors in the basement entrance. The unique shape of the tile adds an interesting feature to this entryway.
Patchwork porcelain tiles with a relaxed contemporary look add pattern and create a stylish backdrop behind the vanity's two sinks. A different porcelain tile was used for the walk-in shower, to create contrast and add depth to the bathroom.
