Designs were nearly complete when the homeowners raised concerns about the existing below-grade garage. The driveway was so steep that they had never parked a car in it. They decided to fill the driveway, bury the existing garage and construct a new three-car garage to be built on a diagonal to the existing house. The angle creates a connecting space that becomes the laundry room and mudroom, providing access to the family room, garage and rear yard.
This three-car garage also doubles as an indoor basketball court. The design intention was to create a home that felt significant and timeless, without being ostentatious. It became a classic structure with traditional lines and materials that is nestled into the existing terrain.
The 5400 sq. ft. Craftsman style beachfront home features a perfectly paved driveway with a detached garage for three. The unique Cedar shake roofing and white trim matches the design of the main home.
On one side of the estate, a three-bay garage and a spacious driveway ensure parking is not an issue for guests arriving to party. Additional garages are available on the property for the avid car collector.
The driveway descends down the yard with separated concrete tracks then meets at a large turnaround space and three car garage. Ornamental grass and small plants provide natural decoration for the drive.
