This ultra-mod, open-concept dining and living space is all about the play of textures. Smooth, pale hardwood floors and walls of glass are juxtaposed with a stone partition and nubby area rug that bring warmth and interest to the space. The pattern of a modern globe pendant mirrors the textured treatment on a sliding door.
Designers created a custom canopy to help partition off the breakfast area within the larger kitchen. The canopy's pink curtains are just one of the many layers of whimsical textures and patterns used throughout the room.
Inspired by the idea of “floating,” the coffee table in this minimalist living room passes through the glass partition that defines the seating areas. Sleek desks integrate ample workspaces into the living area. Bamboo floors contrast the stark whiteness and add texture.
The intricate, webbed design of a sliding glass partition mimics the lines of the modern globe chandelier, filling this otherwise minimal space with texture and interest. A sleek white breakfast bar gets some punch from the black, Z-shaped chair at the head of the table.
