A hallway and adjacent powder room have a personality all their own in the HGTV Smart Home 2013. Used on the wall of the bathroom, gray mosaic tile creates a soothing effect in the small space. Meanwhile, teal stripes create a dizzying backdrop for a hall table and lamp.
The dashing breakfast room is papered in a teal stripe alongside whitewashed floors and molding. Red currant drapes add warmth to the space, while the well-appointed antiques are balanced with a trio of colorful paintings.
Designers Jennifer Reiner and Robert White created a luxe living space with a black, gray, white and peacock blue. palette and a mix of styles. A pair of chandeliers hang from a blue and black-stripe ceiling. There's a touch of the 1950s and 1960s with a midcentury mod chair, a Danish Mod sofa and a glass topped-mod table.
The hallway outside this contemporary bedroom is adorned with a unique frameless mirror and a custom paint job. The mirror's starburst shape is a nod to classic midcentury modern design, while the walls have a coastal vibe with the teal and sand stripes.
