This airy white loft living area features a sawhorse table with a pair of matching lamps, a coffee table made of two kiln-dried teak ottomans with basket weave leather-strap tops and a contemporary gray sectional.
A round brass chandelier hangs in the center of this calming coastal living room with crisp white walls and navy accents. Upholstered armchairs and a large striped sofa with throw pillows share a beautiful tree root coffee table, all positioned in front of the brick fireplace with a wooden mantel.
“The front porch is about 8 feet deep by roughly 20 feet wide,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “It’s enough to function as an outdoor room.” An all-weather rug, teak sofa and colorful coffee table carve out the conversation area.
Black and white striped outdoor cushions on built-in benches bring a fun, playful element to this outdoor patio. A teak outdoor dining table and benches make for the perfect spot to drink morning coffee or enjoy an alfresco dinner at sunset.
This small living area lives large on style, with an ovoid teak midcentury modern coffee table taking center stage. The tuxedo-arm velvet sofa, upholstered ottomans and modern arm chair are sleek yet welcoming. The colors of the painting reflect in the pillows and throw.
With a calming blue, gray and white color palette, it's hard not to find the perfect spot to relax in this contemporary coastal living room. A large cushioned sofa with throw pillows shares a woven rug and tree root coffee table with two armchairs, just steps away from the custom gray home bar with leather barstools. The room is provided with natural light from an oversized window and warm lighting from the overhead modern brass chandelier.
For a family home in Houston, the designers of Laura U Interior Design created a comfortable seating area just off the kitchen. The team used color and accessories to create a cohesive look throughout the wide open area. “While the majority of the color palette is neutral, we weave a lively turquoise through each space: pillows and an area rug in the family, bar stool frames in the kitchen, and a show-stopping chandelier in the breakfast space,” they explain. “The entire space is further unified through the window treatments which are a combination of Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades and custom drapery with a turquoise band on the leading edge. A cheerful yellow and just a dash of orange set off the color scheme while touches of gold and a natural wood (teak root table and driftwood at the island) add eclectic charm.”
