Designer Kathleen Navarra granted the homeowners' wishes of a light, airy kitchen with crisp white cabinetry and a cerused oak island topped with marble while weaving in her trademark use of color. Navarra turned to rich chocolate tones for the grasscloth wallcovering, hardwood floor and La Cornue oven and hood and painted the ceiling with a sky blue lacquer to add depth to the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015 kitchen.
This pristine kitchen features custom everything, from the marble backsplash that extends to the ceiling to the integrated appliances to the range hood to the dual islands, one for prep and one for dining. The beamed ceiling continues into a hearth room that opens to a gorgeous water view. Wide-plank wood floors mix with glossy natural stone to bring the space a chic mix of rustic and modern details.
This outdoor kitchen and barbecue area was designed around the natural landscape that surrounds this Palm Springs home. Stone flooring and wall accents along with a copper range hood add a luxurious feel to the space. Stainless steel appliances are hard-working and add a nice contrast to the natural landscape of the environment.
Two-tone cabinets blend with sleek open shelving, keeping this kitchen feeling open and spacious. A neutral tile backsplash adds visual interest behind the kitchen sink while a dark tile backsplash behind the range hood emphasizes the stainless steel range. A large wood island with a gray granite countertop provides extra workspace, and a built-in sink creates a convenient meal prep area.
The renovation allowed the designers to increase the functionality of the kitchen, add a peninsula for seating and give the clients a large, open pantry that they coveted. For the design, the clients wanted to marry rustic and modern elements to create their dream kitchen. By using a light wash on the floors, a farmhouse sink and a wood hood, they added just enough rustic charm while still maintaining an overall modern feel.
In this kitchen, elegant simplicity is the name of the game. Old appliances were removed to add new, commercial grade appliances to accommodate the young family. Easy to clean Caesarstone countertops were added to the cabinets, and color was added to the neutral, elegant space by adding colorful kitchen ware. Then, designers added a custom range hood cover made from reclaimed barn wood from a local Tennessee farm, adding texture to the space.
This kitchen island has plenty of cupboard and drawer space, and it even incorporates basket storage. The light wood contrasts the white cabinetry making the island stand out beneath a stainless steel range hood. A bright red accent wall draws the eye to the far side of the room and makes the built-in cabinetry pop.
This farmhouse inspired kitchen is full of rustic and vintage detail. From the gold metal and tin pendant light to the ornate shelf brackets that match the hood range this kitchen is full of charming allure. The deep well sink is accented by the large kitchen window and wood grain tile backsplash surround with mosaic detail.
This lovely kitchen is full of visual interest. The warm tones of the brown suede and leather barstools with nailhead trim contrast the cool blue-gray of the kitchen island, topped with white marble. The mosaic backsplash, in gray tones, is topped by a copper range hood that is complemented by the three vintage-inspired hanging light fixtures with warmly colored glass shades. White and frosted glass cabintry, hardwood floors, and an arched doorway complete the space.
High-performance appliances meet statuesque white cabinetry in this contemporary kitchen. Above the stainless-steel stove and cooktop, a powerful exhaust vent and task lighting are tucked underneath a custom-made hood. The patterned backsplash is comprised of marble subway tile. The glass doors on the upper cabinets allow the homeowners to showcase their favorite dishware, while the drawer stacks in the lower cabinets enable them to hide away what they don't want seen.
To add more personality and color to the space, this kitchen's blue retro-style double ovens were installed to give the homeowner plenty of ways to prepare meals for guests. The vent-a-hood above the ovens has scalloped edges, adding personality to an ordinary kitchen appliance. The glass front cabinets allow the homeowner to display her colorful dishes, while the counter is home to unique, colorful items such as a striped utensil holder and a yellow vase.
The Gaspar's new kitchen has been completely transformed with new cabinetry, appliances, and wood flooring. A modern black subway tile backsplash, a wood-framed vent hood, granite countertops and a functional kitchen island were installed. The outdated wallpaper was replaced with light blue/gray paint. The doorway between the kitchen and dining room is now wider, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
A sleek, sharp island fills the floor space in this shining midcentury modern kitchen. Mustard yellow bar chairs add a retro influence and counter the bright finishes of the walls and cabinetry. Gray and white tile create a full wall backsplash pattern behind floating shelves and a stainless steel range hood. Glass pendant lights bring extra light to solidify the bright finish.
As seen on Home Town, the Trest residence has been fully renovated by hosts Ben and Erin Napier. After renovations, the kitchen and dining area features new furniture, cabinetry, and window treatments. A large decorative range hood was added as a featured element in the kitchen as well. Seating at the dining table and island make this house ready for hosting.
Fixer Upper hosts Chip and Joanna Gaines installed a natural wood support beam above the breakfast bar. All new white cabinets and black marble countertops bring a modern look to the kitchen, and two hanging globe light fixtures illuminate the breakfast bar. A new stainless steel range and vent hood is surrounded by a beveled subway tile backsplash to complete the stylish look.
A family of seven needs a lot of space, so to make the most of this kitchen's square footage, a custom island was designed around their dining table. With a banquette (made of easy-to-clean vinyl!) the family now had a spot to hang out and grab a snack or casual meal. Terra cotta Ann Sacks tiles featuring a shimmery, geometric design offer a bit of a modern surprise in an otherwise traditional kitchen designed by Alison Davin for the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
