Out of what was once a cramped, dark kitchen, designers created this chic, friendly space. They removed a center post to help open up the room, then added elegant details like the countertops, pretty tile backsplash and gourmet appliances.
Designers of this small kitchen had an added challenge: Homeowners who didn't see eye to eye stylewise. He liked all things modern; she adored vintage charm. Starting with a white base, designers were then able to layer in chef-grade, modern appliances and pretty vintage accents, keeping all parties happy.
Susan Brunstrum designed this great room using soft color and contemporary furnishings and accents to continue her Mountain Modern approach to this vacation home in Park City, Utah. For the cream-colored sofas, she added cobalt blue pillows with a graphic pattern for a pop of color. The star-shaped pendant light trio adds texture and elegance to the room as well.
Natural wood beams frame the entrance to this large window nook. A tufted olive green cushion gives height to the space, finished with a decorative mix of patterned throw pillows complimenting the neutral tones of the room. A star pendant light adds a fun, contemporary element to the space.
A contemporary star light is centered in this kid's bedroom for a fun contemporary touch to the design. Matching twin beds feature textured frames and striped throw blankets over the blue comforters. The powder blue color creates a light look throughout the room, with the striped floor rug adding complimentary shades to the color palette.
In the sleek kitchen, matte wall tile contrasts with eco-friendly shiny white cabinetry and high efficiency stainless steel appliances. Energy Star lighting fixtures brighten the space with LED bulbs when darkness falls.
