This landing comes to life with large pieces of contemporary art and a coral-and-teal striped runner. As guests ascend the stairs, they'll also be able to admire the wall of windows, a gold chandelier and wood banister -- the last of which was lovingly restored.
With a pom-pom coat rack and bright purple runner along the stairs, this entryway is both fun and functional. White walls balance these playful elements throughout the home and create cohesion from one room to another.
Clean white millwork stands out against the dark hardwood flooring, creating appealing contrast in this home's entry. A bold-striped area rug in white and blue add a pop of color to the space's neutral palette, while a brown carpet runner leads upstairs, softening the wood stairs.
A bold red and orange runner spices up this white staircase. The patterned rug gives a southwestern feel to the traditional look of the dark wood stairs over a white base. Dark railing matches the steps for a cohesive finish.
A textured carpet runner gives a burlap look to the top of these stairs for a subtle southern influence in the design. White newel posts create an entrance frame then white balusters and a deep wood hand rail line the rest of the design. Family photos and mounted candle displays add personality and color to the white wall space.
Erin’s modern twists are subtle but substantive - little moments that have a big impact on the feel of the entire home. One of the main moments is this stairway leading to the second floor. The massive gallery wall that flows up the stairs is one of the designers favorite moments. “I mixed in fun little antiques, paintings and mirrors to keep it feeling organic,” she states. But the star of this vignette is unquestionably the leopard-print floor runner. “My stair runner is a total signature piece,” she admits. “I questioned maybe changing it a while ago and the response on social media was pure horror. So it stays.”
A lampshade chandelier lights up the deep indention of the gray tray ceiling with white decorative molding. Below the chandelier, wood stairs continue up with a wood handrail and purple, black and gray runner.
A look up the remaining stairs showcases the decorative tray ceiling above the second story of this home. The inner gray section compliments the charcoal gray walls below. A white frame paneling design adds a decorative touch along with the lampshade chandelier.
The stairway descends upon the entry table, which features a pair of cubed wooden stools underneath and two lamps resting on either side of the horse sculpture. The mirror reflects the striped runner on the stairs.
The bright blue walls and whimsical chrysanthemum stencils in black and gold give this home a welcoming look right when guests walk in the door. A rattan runner covers the hardwood stairs to add warmth to the room.
This classic staircase features dark hardwood treads paired with white risers and woven natural fiber runner. A wrought iron railing adds a traditional finish, while an arched doorway just underneath the stairs offers a peek at the nearby kitchen.
At the foot of the stairs, a large mirror and wood console table create a drop zone for keys and mail. Not only does the mirror complement the runner with its bright purple trim, but it also reflects the natural light and makes the entryway feel larger in scale.
The lines of this crisp, clean living room and entry guide the eye straight through the wide, arched doorway to the beautiful water views beyond. Paneled walls are painted white, as is the millwork, creating a soft backdrop to the pale aquas and earthy tans in the furnishings and accessories. A traditional carpet runner ascends the stairs, while a rattan console table adds to the homey, beachy vibe.
