This custom project was built as the clients' "forever home." The uniquely designed entry system leads the visitor to four separate landings as the stairs wind around and turn from concrete to "floating steel" stairs towards the top. The concrete was formed to give it a unique detail, and there are two integrated planters along the way up as well. Inside, the home offers a three-stop elevator, two-sided fireplace, 26' exposed steel I-beam, spa-like master bath and hand fabricated custom perforated steel handrails.
Dark polished wood steps match the handrail leading down this twisting staircase. A diamond shaped pendant light hangs above to brighten the space and fill the high ceiling. A striped runner adds vivid color to the design while framed artwork and mounted trinkets decorate the white wall space.
A lampshade chandelier lights up the deep indention of the gray tray ceiling with white decorative molding. Below the chandelier, wood stairs continue up with a wood handrail and purple, black and gray runner.
Clever shoe storage tucked beneath the stairway maximizes space in this traditional Brooklyn, N.Y., townhouse. Dark-stained stair treads and a dark handrail offer pleasing contrast against the crisp bright white trim.
Floating wood stairs paired with glass handrails keep with the elegant, modern design found throughout the residence. A cluster of round pendant lights mimic the look of fireworks, creating interest above the staircase.
The classic staircase and foyer in this renovated row home feature a modern-meets-traditional design, from the dark gray painted stairs with wooden handrail to the neutral, minimalist furniture seen in adjoining rooms.
White shiplap covers the ceiling and walls leading up the home's second level. The staircase features a sisal runner that stretches over the stairs and landing. A white railing topped with blue handrails completes the look.
Floating wood stairs paired with a metal base and cable handrails leads the way to the lofted home office in this contemporary home. Built-in bookcases underneath the staircase, a warm wood paneled ceiling and hardwood flooring completes the design.
A low angle photo accentuates the beautiful shapes in this open, bright foyer. A decorative crystal chandelier hangs down over the beginning of the staircase. The stairs turn and travel up lined with wood columns and handrail. A dark painted ceiling section adds depth to the design and compliments the gray walls of the first floor.
