Stackable laundry units can be a great solution to an often oversized and unsightly laundry room. In this combined workspace the homeowner hides the stackable unit behind a panel, leaving it functional, accessible and camouflaged.
A stackable washer/dryer set saves space in this laundry room, freeing up the floors for baskets and hampers in transit. To ensure that the units wouldn't feel out of place, the designers outfitted them with wood that complements the cabinetry around the room.
This homeowner longed for a laundry area but didn't have space to remodel an existing room. To the rescue: designer Giana Shorthouse of Terracotta Properties, who teamed up with a local cabinetmaker to create a custom kitchen laundry and storage room. Stackable appliances sit next to a closet that has pullout drawers as well as room to iron. Metal mesh door fronts allow moisture out and air to circulate, yet blend seamlessly with the look of the cabinetry.
This small laundry room has everything you need to fold, fluff and iron. Custom shelving, pretty countertops and a small utility sink work together to bring some measure of luxury to the common household chore. A stackable washer and dryer frees up valuable counter space.
This white and gray kitchen features a built-in laundry area with stackable washer and dryer units that allow more room for other kitchen appliances, like the wine refrigerator. A wire bin above the dryer is perfect for stowing away laundry essentials.
Because this laundry area sits between a master bedroom and an art studio, the design team at Crystal Kitchen Center wanted to make it accessible and functional for both purposes. The stained-glass window, backlit by a skylight, serves as an art piece and makes the room feel more expansive. The room is small, so a stackable washer and dryer help to conserve square footage. A staircase bump-out creates a spot for laundry baskets as well as a hanging rod, and a shelf over the sink acts as a handy supply station.
This multipurpose room functions as a laundry area and craft space. A bold blue island with cabinet space features a butcher block countertop that works great for messy crafts. In one corner, a niched wall works well for a stackable washer and dryer, and on the other side of the door, a built-in bookshelf displays art and knickknacks. A quaint powder room is nearby for convenience.
