The aesthetic in this modern bedroom is "rock star gothic grunge with a modern twist." Custom mural wallpaper by Iris Maschek is recessed into an illuminated cove and framed with a custom silver leaf frame by Voila Gallery, becoming artwork in the space. The neo-Baroque Abigail Ahern light fixture above the bed is a masterpiece on its own.
The goal for the sitting area was an airy, relaxing space, so designers stuck with the neutral color palette, bringing in chairs covered in luxurious fabrics. White, sheer curtains help to diffuse the natural light let in through the windows to achieve the desired feel, while silver foil striped wallpaper adds a touch of glamour to the cozy space.
A large doorless closet in a boys' bedroom has three rows of small cubes, in which different colored baskets are used to store books, toys and clothing. This Midcentury Modern dining room features a custom, 130-inch glass top dining table that is supported by three acrylic and brass bases and seats twelve in black, mohair dining chairs. On the ceiling, designers installed a set of suspended chrome and glass balls that are used as a modern light fixture and complement the silver metallic cork wallpaper that offers rich texture to the open dining room.
By keeping the accessories of this bathroom simple and straightforward, Pure Interiors Design could amplify the room's elegance with dramatic toile wallpaper and a fanciful gold-framed mirror. The brushed metal widespread faucet in a brushed silver tone complements the light gray marble countertop and white subway tile on the wall for a unified look. And the simple green-hued roses in the glass vase are simply divine!
In the dining room, Chip and Joanna, hosts of HGTV's Fixer Upper, brought in a new, modern chandelier, dining table and chairs. To update the space, they replaced the old wallpaper with beige paint, creating continuity between this space and the rest of the house. Above the buffet, an old window frame has had its panes replaced with mirrors to add light and color in the space, while silver candlesticks and green topiaries add a French Country touch.
To create a bright, bold dining room for this twenty-something Nashville musician, designers added vintage details to the table in the brightly colored glass and vintage silver. To make the design pop, gold accents were added in the chandelier above the table and the flatware. A bold pink chevron pattern was added to the chairs to make the table a bit more funky, and the walls were covered with Deer Damask wallpaper. Then, vintage furniture was added to the space, along with modern art to give the space a collected feeling.
