A gray accent wall acts as a backdrop for the subway tile shaped headboard design. White bed linens are decorated with a chevron throw blanket and pillows with a finishing sheen. Low nightstands have matching table lamps framing the bed and black and white car art mounted on the wall. A sliding glass door reveals a view to the balcony and lets in bright, natural light.
Bright light and light gray hues create an inviting look in this contemporary combined bedroom and living room. Rugs help separate the two spaces and add texture to the design. A sleek sectional is topped with ample throw pillows featuring navy pillows for a touch of color reflected in the bedroom space by the blue throw blanket. A patterned hardwood floor connects the room and fits perfectly with the effortless style.
This '80s-designed living room was softened by adding a shag area rug, soft pillows and cozy blankets. Rather than covering up the existing black and white flooring, the homeowner embraced it by adding more black and white and mixing in a bold lime green accent color.
Penguin book wallpaper adds vivid color to the bedroom walls. A twin bed with simple black bed frame is situated in the corner leaving open floor space for the neutral shag rug. A bold orange floor cushion matches an orange throw blanket topping the white bed linens.
Light blue painted floor to ceiling beadboard mirroring the planked ceiling adds cottage style warmth to this transitional bedroom. A quilted bedspread and throw blanket carries the airy blue motif throughout the space. Small surprises like bright pillows, a plush shag area rug and traditional upholstered settee creates an inviting sitting area beneath geometric windows.
“Fresh and serene was our vision for this bedroom in the Bahamas,” say designers Shannon Wollack and Brittany Zwickl. “To fit the girls’ two full-size beds in the smallish space, they had to be close together. The solution: one long custom headboard, upholstered in a cotton-linen-blend fabric. Blush pink — always an Insta favorite! — supersoft blankets with fringe, and a fluffy shag rug complete the cozy.”
