The final room in the home is the guest bedroom. Rachel wanted it to be colorful but relaxing, an intentional effort reflecting one of her overall goals for the home - to create a place where family and friends can come and find rest. Reflecting on the design she says, “I consider my home a refuge. My dream was to create a space where people can come over, relax, take a nap and be comfortable while doing so. A space to come lay your head if only for a weekend.”
From the floor up, the entire guest room is wrapped in shades of blue. A basic queen bed frame is dressed with blue and white linens and placed in to corner to create a cozy niche. Touches of red are placed throughout the room to coordinate with the oversized American flag.
Designer Kari McIntosh Dawdy knew her client wanted a glamorous, intimate family room that would provide both a warm welcome and embrace into the home. Hence, Dawdy incorporated shades of blue in the room with comfortable, contemporary furnishings to provide allure and sophistication, as well as to depart from traditional colors used in these types of spaces.

This small bathroom thinks big, thanks to a doorless shower with blue tile accents, glossy navy walls, an airy vintage console-style sink, and a floor of penny tiles in random, complementary shades of blue.
