Ethereal white curtains, deep sea green walls, and simple white bedding accented by the blue quilt and vintage lumbar pillow give this bedroom a calm and stylish look. Vintage Lane side tables as nightstands brings a touch of mid-century style to the design. White cube lamp frames on thin stands fit the light look.
A brilliant shade of turquoise tops the floating vanity in this powder room. Sea inspired glass art in the same shade of turquoise decorates the countertop and the open cabinets below. Colorful abstract art covers the sparkling gray walls for an extra splash of color to the palette.
A windowless hallway need not be overlooked when it comes to good design. Cynthia Spence sought to bring in the textures of the ocean with Holly Hunt cotton velvet wallcoverings and a faux bois textured tin ceiling in the main floor vestibule at the 2016 San Francisco Decorator Showcase. An Art Deco architectural grill conceals an electrical panel.
One black wall in this sea of white turns a modern stairway into a focal point and spotlights colorful contemporary paintings. The narrow stairwell incorporates a unique coffered ceiling with integrated lighting as well as an open, slatted stair design that doesn't hide the art.
Variegated hardwood and a wall-length, built-in entertainment center bring warmth to this comfortable and transitional living room. A whimsical sea urchin lamp rests on an accent table by Worlds Away. Cove lighting in the coffered ceiling adds ambient light and a dramatic touch.
Instead of leaving the wall above the staircase that leads into the third floor master suite, the space is converted into a gallery wall showcasing everything from photography to sea-inspired sculpture. Natural light from the adjacent window highlights the art and keeps the space feeling bright and airy.
Cantilevered stairs project from a stacked stone wall in this California home, creating a clean, sleek line that fits the home's modern vibe. Warm wood finishes and earthy colors on textiles, art and flooring create a neutral backdrop that showcases the spectacular view of sea and sky.
Natural sea-inspired art prints, air plants and that amazing juju hat (a favorite!) were our art feature wall in the space. The TV is there but it's not a feature of the room, just a part of it. Italian leather chairs and the low media center with the large midcentury lamp give this room a cool lounge feel. It makes me want to put a record on and make a gin & tonic with extra lime.
Designer Debbie Talianko designed this transitional living room with touches of the beach and sea, particularly in the soft greens and blues she chose to accent the room. The white sectional sofa and cream walls give the space an airy feel and allow pops of colors in the pillows, area rug and dining room upholstery to take center stage. Also noteworthy is the beach-themed art that punctuates the wall behind the sectional sofa.
