In this transitional dining room the light gray chairs complement the dark wood table and the back handle is a clever and unique detail that adds character. Illuminated by a clear chandelier from above and soft wall sconces gives the room a sense of elegance without the overly formal vibe making this space welcoming and cozy.
The open concept master bedroom and bathroom mixes sleek lines with a soothing neutral color palette. The spa bathtub is the perfect spot to relax, while lots of glass is used throughout the space to maintain the open atmosphere. Skylights bring natural light into the bedroom, where a platform bed is flanked by sleek sconces and chic nightstands.
A round nightstand on each side of the bed offers a spot for framed photos and books for nighttime reading. A long-necked sconce with a salt-blasted glass globe and antique brass-finished metal frame on the wall on each side of the bed offer soft and stylish lighting.
A stone patio lit by multiple wall sconces surrounds this stunning pool and hot tub. Underwater lighting illuminates the swimming pool, extending the functionality of this outdoor entertaining space. A winding water slide empties into the pool for kid-friendly fun while four low fountains splash into the pool from the covered patio.
This refined living room showcases lots of art, from the brass sconces above the wood framed fabric art on the left side of the room, to the floor-to-ceiling black-and-white photography gallery wall on the right. Comfy, neutral sofas and velvet armchairs share a modern coffee table beneath a floral-inspired, pendant light.
Placed under a large window that allows natural light inside with patterned roman shades and a one-light wall sconce on each side, the white freestanding tub with center drain includes an ergonomic design and heated surface with three heat settings for soothing warmth on your back, neck and shoulders. “The freestanding tub gives the bathroom a bit more elegance than a built-in tub,” says project manager Scott Branscom.
A custom Roman shade almost disappears above this modern window seat, keeping the space clean and crisp while lowering to block light when needed. A built-in shelf, wall sconce and custom cushion topped with pillows are all functional touches that make this reading nook a dreamy space for a young girl.
As seen on season 1 of Sarah Sees Potential, a once cramped living room now has plenty of chic, extra seating. Neutral wall colors of cream and light blue brighten the space and allow Sarah to play with different shades of the client's favorite color, turquoise. A nautical-themed striped rug and decorative wall sconce complete the cozy feel of this fireside nook.
This simple modern design boasts quality over quantity. Smooth, dark wooden cabinetry supports a lifted marble countertop. A white vessel sink with a modern stainless steel faucet is positioned below a mirror with a frame echoing the cabinet color. Large tile on the walls has a warm, neutral look in the low light of the sconces.
Warm neutrals with golden accents draw you into this warm, intimate master bedroom. The slight sheen on the drapery panels and bedding add a luminous quality, and the linear details of the fabrics and furniture are caught by the light from the wall mounted arc sconces on either side of the room. A true retreat within the home, this cozy spot will make for a memorable 'staycation.'
A feature wall leads visitors to the spa-like hot tub, but not before leading them along a unique feature wall. Three stone "frames" are the home to glass and metal sconces which have both fire and light elements. Below the scones, water flows from tiny spouts into the pool, creating an audible element along the pathway to the relaxing spa.
The mirrored design of this floating vanity creates a double vanity space with his and hers sinks, two drawers and a shared open shelf. Vertical charcoal gray tile adds a clean backsplash line separating the countertop and the long mirror mounted above. Cylinder sconces combine with natural light from the window to keep the space bright.
A large mirror stretches the length of the wall to top this traditional vanity with white marble countertop. A large floral arrangement creates a centerpiece for the vanity. Mounted stone plates face each other decorating the room and adding texture and depth. The crystal vanity knobs in conjunction with the crystals on the chandeliers and sconces allow for more balance with light to sparkle.
This eclectic conference room is sure to get the creative juices flowing. A set of padded red doors adds a pop of color to the space, while canned lighting and sconces all around the room provide light. The industrial feel of the building is carried into this room with the metal and concrete conference table and metal rolling chairs, while the faux library wallpaper and photography of San Francisco adds an artistic feel to the space. A large whiteboard spans the length of the back wall so that advertisers can explain and flesh out their ideas in this space.
Glee creator Ian Brennan's living room was redesigned by HGTV Design Star winner Emily Henderson, as seen on HGTV's Secrets From A Stylist. Emily makes the fireplace the focal point by hanging a huge statement portrait of President William Harrison above it and flanking it with antique sconces. She creates vignettes around the room with accessories that reflect Ian's personality to give the space a homier feel. Built-in shelves beautifully frame a large window providing maximum storage. A white eyelet pendant light, soft throw pillows, and pouf ottoman are cozy accessories.
You would never know that this fabulous walk-in closet was created from an outdoor storage room. An exterior door and window were closed and removed to allow space for custom built-in shelving, providing ample room for clothing, shoes and jewelry. The light from the sparkling hanging fixture bounces off a shimmery petal pink ceiling, while glass shoe shelves mounted in front of pink damask wallpaper provide a beautiful focal point. The custom-designed full-length mirror and the sconces flanking it stand out in front of the horizontal striped wallpaper.
