Trista's design plan took inspiration from the outdoor surroundings, deliberately bringing colors and themes of the natural surroundings indoors. A muted but rich blue was key in the color palette and reflective of the clear blue Colorado skies. As seen on HGTV's Rocky Mountain Reno.
As seen on Rocky Mountain Reno, the small, cramped bathroom has been converted into a luxury spa bathroom for the family. The white subway tile behind the toilet and sink give the room a bright look, while the grey tile in the shower area breaks up the monotony, adding warmth and separating the glass shower area from the rest of the space.
As seen on HGTV's Rocky Mountain Reno, this small upstairs bedroom has been turned into the new nursery of the couple. The sweet nursery is complete with muted colors and animal decorations. On the other side, there is a dresser and a closet for all of baby's toys and clothes.
As seen on Rocky Mountain Reno, the couple's new living room contains a seating area for them to enjoy. With two overstuffed leather chairs placed directly underneath a window, plenty of natural light enters the seating area. The natural elements of the space-the wood walls and table and the leather chairs-bring a rustic feel to the space, while the metal lamp helps incorporate the modern. Trista brings in the natural blue from the kitchen by adding a Roman shade on the window.
As seen on HGTV's Rocky Mountain Reno, Trists' design has expertly combined the natural aspect of the cabin with the modern aspects that the couple desires. In the living room, the rustic design is brought to life with the wood wall, exposed wood beams, the original wood burning stove for extra warmth and decor such as the antlers on the wall and the wood candlestick holder. She brings the modern into the design with the window treatments and the rug. The natural blue color on the wall and the curtains adds a pop of color to the space.
As seen on Rocky Mountain Reno, the couple renovating this log cabin in Minturn, Colorado was interested in bringing both rustic and modern designs together to make the home of their dreams. The clean, white tile, grey stone vanity and grey patterned and mosaic tile, the modern style is greatly represented. To incorporate the rustic design, Trista used natural wood in places like the exposed beams in the ceiling and natural wood baseboards.
As seen on HGTV's Rocky Mountain Reno, this bedroom, once covered in wood, dark and outdated, is now a bright, beautiful place for the couple to relax. A large window with neutral window treatments let in plenty of natural light, while the light color of the walls and ceiling help to reflect that light and keep the space feeling lights and open. Trista continues her design into the bedroom with the bold, blue bedspread and accent pillow. She added a modern touch with a metal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, but kept the rustic design alive with the exposed beam in the ceiling and the natural wood door to the right.
