Seeking to honor the era of architect Julia Morgan, who designed the home which hosted the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2015, designer Candace Barnes selected a painting inspired by 20th century artist Robert Motherwell. The painting by Myke Reilly mimics the geometric patterns in the rest of Barnes' design.
The mood in this open concept great room is of uninterrupted space from inside to outside. Light pours in through walls of glass and clerestory windows. The fireplace gets a striking surround of copper. In one corner of the room, the wine cellar becomes an integral part of the visual display, which also includes a series of prints by Robert Motherwell.
