A new fireplace was added in the living room, creating a visual focal point with its neutral rock facing and built-in benches on either side. The addition of an exposed beam vaulted ceiling makes the room feel more open, while removing a wall between the kitchen and living room allows for an easy flow between spaces.
This modern home was brought back to life by opening up the spaces, adding windows and moving/adding doors. The HVAC chase that originally divided the family room was removed to create an open floor plan that now houses a cozy sitting area.
The fireplace and cabinetry were custom designed and built to match the beautiful Arts and Crafts detailing throughout the home. The owner specifically selected handmade tiles from Carreaux du Nord for the fireplace surround.
