A show-stopping table in lacquered stripes of red, silver, black and white creates a fun spot for a dinner party and a dramatic focal point in this New Jersey dining room. Eight Parsons chairs seem to float beside the table on acrylic legs.
Floor to ceiling bookshelf wallpaper gives this billiards room the feel of an old library with neutral books encased in black shelves. The white lacquer pool table with a black velvet top is a gorgeous centerpiece. A deep red curtain adds a bold accent color, and a set of black and white striped chairs complement the color theme while adding a new pattern to the design.
A fire engine red accent wall with a high-gloss, lacquered finish invigorates this contemporary dining room. Smaller splashes of color in the accent table and dining chairs add variation to the space's bold, vivid color palette.
A lacquered red dresser offers a bold pop of color against the neutral oak wall paneling and a place to store office supplies. An ultra-modern chair sits atop the sisal rug and plays off the geometric lines of the paneling with a triangular back and seat.
Brown leather chairs, a red lacquered console table, artwork and gold-toned accessories give this black dining room contemporary flair. A black chandelier hanging over the marble-topped table seamlessly blends in with the decor, as does a custom-made, laser-cut screen that separates the dining space from the living room.
This entry joyfully foreshadows what's in store for our journey through the Blehm family home. We're immediately introduced to the family's four central themes: a love of art, bold colors, custom solutions and the use of classic black and white. When the foundation is understated, as is this entry's wallpaper, it creates an opportunity to layer on the fun. Angela worked with a local carpenter to design the statement making red lacquered cabinet. The door style was inspired by Angela's favorite ceramic planter and is in perfect harmony with the iron pickets on the staircase to the left. It is clear the paintings and accessories were all intentionally chosen and placed. The relationships between shapes, finishes and even the primary colors create a beautifully balanced entry vignette
