As seen on Cousins on Call, John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino used an old mantel they found during the Rao home's construction for a headboard. They salvaged the piece, cleaned it up and painted it blue. Now, the piece is a dramatic statement piece that has become the focal point of the room.
Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri were excited to see that there was a fireplace behind the old walls of this living room in the Rao home. By exposing the fireplace, and brick walls, the cousins brought out a colorful contrast and newness to the rest of the room. As seen on HGTV's "Cousins On Call".
A dramatic change in the Rao home. With the back wall gone that separated the hallway and entrance from the living room, the room feels twice the size. Additional light flows in from the doorway entrance and the new open staircase. Added lighting on the ceiling and newly repaired windows fill this room with light and warmth. New furniture and flowers make the room feel comfortable, inviting, and warm. As seen on HGTV's Cousins On Call.
With the old rundown kitchen gone in the Rao apartment, the Cousins now have the extra room to to turn the back space into a large colorful bedroom. The large bed backboard was an old wooden mantel that was found in the home during construction. The cousins cleaned it up and painted it blue for a bold graphic addition to the room.
