This home's original master bathroom had a sunken bathtub and a small shower, so to modernize the space and make it more functional, designers raised the floor and added a freestanding bathtub, which was the perfect addition next to the newly tiled, double-sided fireplace. Then, the same tiles that were used for the fireplace surround were also used in the shower floor, connecting the two spaces and adding warm texture to the space.
The raised ledge creates an in-ground design for the bathtub. A polished stone ledge surrounds the tub with walnut panels covering the step. The tub is tucked into the large bay window space leaving plenty of open floor space. Natural linen roman shades are motorized for easy operation and enjoyment of the ocean view.
This master bath's existing raised-panel cabinets were replaced with custom maple cabinets and a large freestanding maple armoire. A standing shower and large bathtub give this bathroom a spa-like feel.
A luxurious bathtub with traditional fixtures is positioned to take advantage of a breathtaking scenic view. To save space, the vanity is seamlessly molded into the wood paneling of the skirt of the tub. The marble countertop features gentle curves with a raised arch, and is designed to accentuate the graceful lines of the sinks. Cool blue walls balance the warmth of the cherry cabinetry.
