To make a somewhat small kitchen feel so welcoming, the designers used a base of all white for a fresh, open look, then added family-friendly details like a built-in banquette. Hardwood floors pop against the cabinets and walls and an unfussy rag rug is a nice finishing touch.
The water inspired Sarah Richardson, host of HGTV's Sarah's Summer House, to decorate this guest bedroom with cool blues and greens. A striped vintage rag rug complements bold green-and-white sheets that counterbalance the feminine blue decorative pillows. The curves in the headboard and fabric represent waves in the water, adding to the coastal feel of the room.
