The front of the home was reimagined with steps leading to a more pronounced portico. A stacked stone veneer dresses up the singled facade, while the addition of a carriage style garage door adds extra charm.
To up the curb appeal of this petite cottage, the plain front door was freshened up with the addition of a small portico perfectly in scale with the house. The door itself is a pale blue, a nice nod to the seaside setting.
This home's black wrought iron railing and banister enhance the entryway without blocking the look of the brick exterior and columned front porch. The porch, which has a curved portico, was created by Atlanta Decking & Fence.
Symmetry is key for this colonial-inspired home exterior. Tall twin shrubs and sage-green shutters flank four windows, balancing the front of the home. An off-white portico and front door, painted the same color as the house, blend with the siding's color for subtle definition.
As seen on Home Town, the existing exterior of the Carson house was lost on the street with plain white siding and few distinguishing features. After the renovations, their Laurel, MS house now features a new copper roof entry portico, cedar window boxes to highlight the painted blue wood windows, new wood shutters, and a fir wood door. Host Ben Napier custom built the new working blue wood shutters.
