The new porch columns were constructed to emulate the original columns, but are proportionately larger in order to accommodate the higher porch roof height. An original wood ornament was saved during demolition, used as a template for the new wood trim and resized to fit the new proportions of the brick columns.
Rain or shine, this covered porch provides a space for entertaining no matter the weather. Wood bench seats line the outer edge of the room proving ample sitting space. The bench is accessorized with decorative cushions and pillows.
As seen on Fixer Upper, this home's outside appearance was transformed by adding an all-new facade with post-and-beam construction, a full wraparound porch, new metal roof and natural wood columns and support beams.
The front porch was designed to look like an extension to the home. The new stone terrace matches the brick on the home. The terrace is covered with copper roof and held up with 5 hand painted columns. The Moroccan decorative lights dance in the wind and invite guests into the home. It was finished off with a new wooden door and sidelights.
