In a large, open interior — and this is especially important when the space has soaring ceilings, as this one does — it’s essential to choose furnishings and details that fit the large scale of the room. Says stylist Sophie Gunnersen of Studio Stamp: “All the pieces in the room are rather big and bold, and everything has a purpose. The custom-made dining table sits at bar height and it is large and chunky. The black AGA cooker is really the key piece in the space — it adds ambience and attracts most people with its warmth. The vertical bookshelf along with the softer green tiles divide the room.”
The half dome of this home's master bedroom ceiling was inspired by neoclassical designs and is painted with a pink tone. The molding is detailed in a light blue, recalling a soft sunrise or sunset. Paint colors used for the ceiling are "Ointment Pink," with the molding detailed in Farrow & Ball's "Skylight."
This adorable bedroom was created for a three-year-old little girl who was ready to transition to a big kid's room. The designer's goal was to make a space that was fun and imaginative and could grow along with its owner.
There's a lot to love about this colorful living room: the pastel pink sofa, the coral chair, and, without doubt, the white-painted fireplace. A large rug softens the hardwood floors and brings in a dose of yellow and blue, too.
This darling bedroom is the perfect place for a young girl to play and grow up. Light green walls are beautifully accented with pink bedding, a pink rug and a curtained canopy. A tulip chandelier and small table lamps provide cute and decorative lighting. Darker pink and green throw pillows add depth to the color combination.
Natural light illuminates this modern home office which includes two pink acrylic chairs positioned behind a wood desk with white metal legs. Pink tulips fill a light green garden pot and sit atop the desk, while a bright blue lamp on a nearby metallic end table provides a pop of color.
Light pink walls are capped with a patterned ceiling bringing a touch of green to the room. A striped floor matches the walls and adds deeper shades of pink. Hot pink letters personalize the wall above a beautiful white crib with pink details. The dresser and toy box match the crib for a fully girly design.
You’ll definitely need French macaroons. Made with almost flower, they are gluten free and delicious. I like to choose my macaroons based on color to match them to the decor. For a party based on roses, I went with red, pink, light green, and a pretty speckled ivory.
Pale pink brings the perfect sweet look to this girl's bedroom, but black details bring an unexpected pop of accent to the design. The wood shingle theme is tied in with scalloped awnings in the same style, bringing visual balance to the room.
From the patterned rug to the personalized throw pillow, pink and white details give this nursery space a feminine and fun look. A large bean bag chair is a fun twist on the traditional nursery rocker. Storage containers under the window seat provide concealed storage. A lighted heart fixture adds warm light to the space.
A gray tufted bench compliments the upholstered headboard joining the fur throw in adding texture to the design. Neutral and white bed linens lighten the dark hardwood and gray tones. Pink shades on the table lamps cast a rose colored light adding a romantic touch of color to the chic room.
