Geometric-patterned carpet in brown and blue anchors the color palette in the room. Blue, patterned wallpaper and brown draperies warm the blue wall color and creates clean lines in this patterned space. All-white bedding flanked by two pale pink lamps break up the blue and brown colors of the room for an added touch of elegance.
According to Genevieve Gorder, this bedroom needs some serious help. "A white upholstered hollow-core door as a headboard and layers of white bedding would have added comfort and a sense of dreamy luxury," says Candice. "Acoustical ceiling tiles wrapped in pink cotton to fill the area above the desk would have been a more striking and practical treatment."
A deep blue built in unit and matching molding is brightened by the white walls and ceiling of the room and complemented by pops of raspberry pink decorative details. Linen baskets create an organized storage system while the remaining shelves are beautifully decorated with personal touches. A button wall canvas and jar-base lamp bring subtle touches of texture to the room.
“Fresh and serene was our vision for this bedroom in the Bahamas,” say designers Shannon Wollack and Brittany Zwickl. “To fit the girls’ two full-size beds in the smallish space, they had to be close together. The solution: one long custom headboard, upholstered in a cotton-linen-blend fabric. Blush pink — always an Insta favorite! — supersoft blankets with fringe, and a fluffy shag rug complete the cozy.”
Contemporary bird artwork was chosen to add a quirky touch to this bright, bold guest bedroom. The pinks, reds and oranges from the artwork were used in a color-blocking technique around the room, featured on the lamps, cushions and bedding. Designer tip: To keep a space with bright colors from looking like a kid's room, layer shades of the same tone throughout, like this room layers coral, orange and red.
Tamara’s bedroom is a far cry from the high-energy of the living area. Away from the bright colors and energetic patterns, this is a space designed for relaxation. The dark gray walls set an intimate mood, overlaid by black and white accents that continue the calm feeling. Warm pops of pink from the bedding provide contrast. The art in this space is simple and focused, a tribute to the designer, her husband, and the home that they share.
Pastel details contrast with the wood elements in this master bedroom remodel. The printed, yellow wallpaper creates an accent wall in this cottage-style bedroom, acting as a cheerful backdrop for the pink and gray aspects of the room. Crisp, neutral bedding along with the clean lines of the neutral headboard anchor the bedroom's largest furniture piece and mirrors the neutral fireplace. A splash of bold color is added to the decor with the use of pink throw pillows, a nightstand and printed ottoman. A wooden table and mantel act as a base for decorative pieces and soft, pastels colors in the chair and nightstand lamp elaborate on the room's pastel ambiance. A distinct, natural lighting fixture adds a rustic element to the room.
