Classical columns with Neo-Gothic arches adorn the outdoor lounging areas of this sprawling Mediterranean-style estate. The 3.5-acre property features tiered pools and courtyards, creating the ultimate outdoor oasis in the heart of Beverly Hills.
From the moment guests pass through the gated entryway and make their way up the gravel path to the main house at Peacock Pavilions, they are transported to a magical world of lifestyle blogger Maryam Montague’s making, and it all begins with the main room. Like every room at Peacock Pavilions, this expansive chamber is filled with wonders from all corners of the globe. The white walls are the perfect backdrop for Montague’s colorful collection which mixes modern furnishings with antique and modern pieces from Morocco, China and India. The arched doorway on the far left leads to the hotel’s own souk, a small but stunning shop that displays a selection of good curated by Montague to support her non-profit organization, Project Soar (http://www.projectsoarmorocco.org/).
The open air pavilion serves as an entertainment hub complete with premium grilling area, central fireplace and comfortable seating. The open fireplace features a textural rock surround that extend up into the wood ceiling. Because the space is covered and protected from the elements, the outdoor dining space is elevated with an elegant set up and large pendant lighting.
A pergola extends out from the covered pavilion bringing the warm wood hues out over this outdoor bar space. A gorgeous stone countertop steals the show melding the warm wood color with neutral and gray. The smooth countertop is a stylish contrast to the rough texture of the rock bar base and nearby retaining wall.

The homeowners wanted a multi-functional space that can be used for relaxing and entertaining. Large sliding doors open the living room up to the pavilion for a true indoor/outdoor element. An intimate exterior seating arrangement creates a cozy atmosphere to enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Inside, the veneered media wall offers display shelving while embracing and complementing the existing architecture.
An attractive water feature combining a stream and waterfalls that empty into a pool connects the new yard (note the pavilion in the background) with the owner’s main residence. Ed Castro Landscape worked closely with Cruickshank Remodeling on the placement and construction of the rock-lined stream and also oversaw the addition of new plantings in the landscape renovation.
