The kitchen opens directly onto a dining area; both spaces are treated to expansive views of the backyard. Beneath the dining table, a mixed pattern rug has all the colorful appeal of a patchwork quilt.
Bring some coziness to the table by using an old, plaid wool blanket as a tablecloth. It's very fitting for fall and saves purchasing extra linens. A patchwork quilt or simply a plaid piece of fabric would stand in nicely as well.
