This contemporary guest bedroom is the ideal retreat for out of town guests. The soothing color palette is complimented with a mix of soft details like the paisley drapery fabric and glass nightstand lamps.
This traditional family room is designed for a young family. Ikat, paisley, faux leather and faux animal print fabrics are combined to bring excitement to the room while also making it kid-friendly with stain-resistant fabrics.
A red shaker-style, pencil-post bed with a paisley spread sets the stage in this Americana design. This guest suite incorporates iconic symbols and distinctly-patterned fabrics, including gingham carpet, to achieve the look.
This soft green sitting room just outside the master bedroom at HGTV Dream Home 2012 features an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional pieces. A hand-knotted rug anchors the space and pairs well with the room's diverse collection of upholstery fabrics. The abstract oil on canvas ties the room's many elements together.
The magic in this nursery comes from the whimsical accents and rich textures. A unique mirror mimics the curves of the paisley wall treatment, while the fabric chosen for the pillows and window seat dares you to sit a spell. A ceramic rose blooming on the lamp is a feminine touch.
When interior designer Linda Woodrum set about designing this guest bedroom for HGTV Dream Home 2009, she envisioned a cozy, lived-in space with walls painted a peaceful shade of buttercream and a bed blanketed in heirloom-style fabrics. To balance the old-fashioned feel, jolts of color, interesting texture combinations and bold patterns, including paisley and check, were used to ramp up the room's energy.
In Chris' bedroom, a mix of high and low created his designer bed ensemble. A custom bed upholstered in automotive vinyl was the area's biggest purchase; however, deceptively budget-friendly purchases were made for the remainder of the space. The demilune-shaped chests came from ZGallerie for $600 each, and not only do they add an elegant touch, they offer concealed storage. Table lamps atop the chests were found at a flea market and updated with red paint and new metallic drum shades. While Ralph Lauren bedding in a classic paisley print was a splurge, custom pillows made from $6.99 per yard IKEA tartan fabric kept the budget in check. To allow Chris to easily change up the looks of his bedding, the backs of each pillow were covered in a nautical print from Duralee.
