As seen on HGTV's Love It Or List It Too, Designer Jillian Harris completely transformed what was a dark kitchen into an open concept kitchen and dining room. Jillian removed the entire wall between the old kitchen and dining room, creating space for an island with a live edge 100 year old fir countertop. Jillian painted the dining room Siberian Snowflake and installed American Walnut Authentic engineered wood flooring.
This open dining room and kitchen boasts some mid-century flare with the black barstools, wooden cabinets and upholstered dining chairs. Contemporary details, like the dining table and light fixtures, bring it into the 21st century.
John and Anthony, from America's Most Desperate Kitchen, took a small, outdated kitchen and opened it into the living room to create an open, contemporary space that is perfect for cooking, dining and entertaining.
Views of the San Diego Bay can be enjoyed from the dining room of this French country home. The dining room is adjacent to a spacious kitchen with a custom range hood that serves as an eye-catching focal point.
Walls between the kitchen and hallway and the kitchen and dining room were removed, the range was moved and an island was added for family meals. “This family of four was thrilled to have their kitchen open out to the dining area with a large peninsula,” designer Anjie Cho reports.
Simple wooden cabinets and neutral countertops combine with clean white walls for a welcoming kitchen. Warm yellow walls are used for the dining room, which mixes a rustic wood dining table with woven chairs and an Asian-inspired buffet table.
This combined kitchen and dining room takes advantage of its footprint, with a long dining table that echoes the line of the long island and breakfast bar. The marble and wood topped island features seating for four, with a trio of pendants providing task lighting for dining, cooking and more. The exotic wood of the clean-lined cabinetry draws the eye, resulting in a unique space that's both crisp and warm.
The warm, inviting kitchen opens up to a pretty blue dining room, creating an easy flow through the main areas of the home. Beautiful architectural details, like the structured columns and room dividers, add to the Craftsman feel of space.
Large abstract art adds color and creates a beautiful focal point in this contemporary dining room and kitchen. A glass-top table is surrounded by sleek black-and-white chairs, while modern black barstools provide more eating space.
With the kitchen moved back to the dining room, and the old fridge and cabinets taken away, the width of the dining room area feels as though it has doubled in size. And where there use to be a fridge and old cabinets, there is now a beautiful stone wall with a wine tap that sits above a stylish buffet cabinet, and gives the home a Tuscan feel as well. Design as seen on HGTV's hit show Kitchen Cousins.
As seen on HGV's Love It or List It, this renovated kitchen is missing the wall that used to separate it from the dining room. Now, with the wall gone, the kitchen feels much more spacious, and there is a greater flow to the house.
In this elegant lake house, the kitchen and dining room are connected through an extra wide doorway that gives the two spaces an open feeling and allows for people and food to move easily throughout the two spaces making entertainment a breeze.
John and Anthony, hosts of HGTV's Kitchen Cousins, have opened up the Sosa's cramped kitchen and dining room space. The wall between the kitchen and dining room has been mostly removed, but the load bearing portion remains. The fireplace has been removed to modernize the space, and the stone backsplash in the kitchen ties perfectly into the stone table top on the dining room table. That light gray color is complimented nicely by warm, rich wood throughout the kitchen and dining room.
