“Fabric shades are like great art: They transform a space and its inhabitants,” says Kara Roberts, Director of Merchandising for Smith & Noble, the manufacturer of the Moroccan-style shades shown here. Flat Roman shades fold up at the top when fully raised and lie flat when lowered, creating a low profile look that works with a wide range of fabrics and prints.
This breakfast area is a cheerful mix of patterns: Bernhardt dining chairs with a graphic back and nailhead trim surround a round Coddington-designed walnut table. A silver leaf iron pendant, roman shades and a Moroccan-print accent rug complete the space. The artwork in the adjoining living room is by Monika Steiner.
Keeping with the Moroccan theme, designer Joe Human layered this eclectic outdoor space with bold patterns and faux greenery. Two wire chairs ensure that there's plenty of sitting room for guests, while blue and white pillows provide additional comfort.
The careful selection of accessories and details is what makes this lovely Craftsman-style sitting room stand apart. The pale gray graphic prints on both the large artwork and fireplace surround tie in with the Moroccan-inspired pendant lamp.
